Miami County
Buildings and
Grounds Rentals

Mission:

The mission of the Miami County Fair Association with respect to the buildings and grounds as well as all other activities is to promote and serve youth activities.  We are committed to 4-H and all other youth programs in an effort to provide both rewarding and challenging activities.  In that, we hope to prepare and provide our youths with skills, experiences and ethics they can carry with them throughout their lives.

Buildings and Grounds Rentals:

The Miami County Fair Association currently offers a number of it's buildings and grounds areas for private rentals.  The fair grounds themselves consist of a handful of indoor facilities as well as covered outdoor areas and strickly outdoor areas.

The most common rental areas include our three indoor buildings known as the main exhibit building, the booth barn and the new exhibit building.  For those of you are are not familiar with these names, these buildings are also known as the #2, #3 and #4 buildings as specified on the outside of each. All three buildings are equipped with indoor restroom facilities.  All other areas of the fair grounds are available for rent with the exception of the new soccer fields in which we ask you contact the Soccer Club for approval to use the fields.  In addition we do offer the arena for rentals, but require that individuals wishing to rent the arena obtain prior approval from the Fair Board Association.  In renting the arena, insurance stipulations apply that you may read about below.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Who May Rent Facilities Offered by the Miami County Fair Assoc.?
At this time, there are no stipulations that apply on who may rent these facilities offered.  While most rentals are conducted by locals, we do accept renters from other areas, but we do practice a general rule that 4-H and other youth programs take precedence over all other rentals.

What is the cost to rent?
The rental cost is set at $325.00 per day which must be paid before reserving a building. With an other check for $150.00 which could be a refundable damage and clean-up deposit required prior to receiving the key to the  facility. If you cancel with in 60 days of rental date you may receive $150.00 back from your $325.00 deposit check. Multiple buildings ask about price.

What are the dates and times that these facilities are available?
Facilities are available Monday through Sunday with no set time schedule.  We do however, allow for set-up the night before an event if the facilities are not rented to another individual.

What rules and stipulations apply to renting?
If you wish to rent one of the facilities offered, the Miami County Fair Board Association requires that renters sign a rental agreement in addition to paying the rental fee and damage deposit.  We also ask that you provide proof of homeowners insurance that covers damages that apply to hosting a private party.  Most homeowners insurance should cover these types of activities.

What insurance stipulations apply?
In renting facilities available at the Miami County Fair Grounds, we ask that renters provide proof of homeowners insurance.  For arena rentals, please consult your insurance agent, as there may be additional requirements for hosting an outdoor activity including horses and machinery.  Proof of insurance must be provided prior to renting these facilities, with an emphasis placed upon arena rentals.

Is Alocohol allowed at private party rentals?
Alcohol is currently allowed to be present at private party rentals, but it is stipulated that no admission fee may be charged.  We also stress, that "no" alcohol is to be served to persons under the age of 21 and a valid drivers license or I.D. must be present on all individuals consuming alcohol.  While we do continue to allow alcohol to be served at private parties, we encourage renters to maintain behavior appropriately so that it may not place this priviledge in danger of being revoked for all future renters.

What expectations are placed upon you as a renter?
We ask that all renters leave the premises in the condition they were in prior to renting them.  We ask that all areas be left clean and free from debris and trash.  The damage deposit required will be used to cover all damages and clean up costs if premises are not left in good condition.  For trash pick-up and disposal, we ask that you clean up the rental areas and deposit all trash in the dumpsters located outside.  If you are unsure where the trash dumpsters are located, please ask prior to setting up your party.

What is deemed as unacceptable renter behavior?
What we deem as unacceptable behavior would include excessive damage to the facilites, fighting and any other behavior that might discredit the Miami County Fair Association.  While we have never had problems in the past, we feel it necessary to note that any inappropriate behavior that is reported to the Fair Association will be reviewed in which a decision will be made whether or not to ban individuals from future rental of the facilities.

What if I do not wish to rent the facilities, but wish to set-up a vendor booth at the fair, rodeo and demolition derby?
For vendors wishing to place booths at the fair, rodeo and demolition derby, you may do so on a first come, first serve basis.  While most of our vendors are repeat vendors, we welcome new vendors at any time.  We do however, like to limit our product offers to one vendor to reduce the competition and prevent any problems between competeing vendors.
