Youths must be 7 years of age but not 19 years of age as of January 1, be a regular 4-H member in an organized Miami County 4-H Club or student enrolled in Vocational Agriculture in a school in Miami County, and must meet the specific requirements stated below to show beef, bucket calves, dairy, dairy goats, horses, rabbits, sheep and swine at the Miami County Fair.
Tag-A-Long members must be between the ages of 5 and 7 as of January 1. Tag-A-Long Members may enroll one project; participation in animal projects include Breeding Ewe Lamb or Market Lamb, Breeding Guilt or Market Hog, Dog, Poultry, Rabbit, Pet, Goat, Horse and Bucket Calf. Lead-line is the only Horse class open to Tag-A-Long's. Tag-A-Long's will show in a separate class. Tag-A-Long's are not permitted to sell at the livestock project auction.
Individuals wanting to show at the Kansas State Fair must meet county and state deadlines and regulations. 4-H'ers must qualify at approved county and invitational 4-H shows and events with purple or State Fair blue ribbon and meet State Fair guidelines and qualifications.
County events that qualify for State Fair Entry include, but are not limited to: Spring Shows, Tri-County Dog Show, Area Poultry Show, Spring Fling, Spring Rabbit Show, or other 4-H Invitational Shows.
In order to show at the Miami County Fair, members must be enrolled in the project area by January 1.
